tcp - tcpdump always filters my packets -

i've been using tcpdump month now, , recently, has stopped capturing packets not sent or computer running tcpdump. i've stripped down command just:

sudo tcpdump -i en2

i've checked interfaces ifconfig, , en2 in "promisc" mode. when specifying specific host filter, see few "arp" messages nothing compared going on in network.

any ideas why happening? appreciated if can offer advice!

richard

ps, sorry re-post, wanted register time! (new s.o.)

do know network equipment used \ if there has been change recently?

one possible explanation computer connected switch (and not hub) switch sends adapter traffic intended mac address, , broad casts (hence arp)

one way check send broad casts other computers in network (just use ping 255.255.255.255) , see if can see anything.
